UPDATED AGENDA

*Special thanks to Ron Moore for sponsoring our very first Meetup! Ron is the Founder and President of Marketing Technologies Group, an Essbase consulting and training firm. The first event will be hosted in Ron's office building, conveniently located in the Financial district (55 Broad st, 10th Floor). Ron is also the organizer of the Essbase Meetup and has 20 years of experience within the BI field.*

Agenda

  • "Hullo"s
  • Open Forum Topics: What is the current state of BI? What are the trends? What are the shortcomings? How is the web/enterprise 2.0 reshaping the field? What are the opportunities for vendors and customers? What is the role of the Community? Is the NYBI Meetup the beginnings of one such community? What should be the charter for the NYBI Meetup?
  • Ron Moore will share his experiences within the BI field, motivations for founding MTG, service offerings, successes, challenges and why every BI enthusiast should be familiar with Essbase.

To help motivate introductions of NYBI to your friends and colleagues, we will be awarding a small, fun prize to the prolific individual through whom others discover and attend our first Meetup.

Feel free to contact me, Yuriy, with any questions or comments at [masked], through my Meetup profile, or through our [masked] mail list.

Please join us for our first NYBI (pronounced "newbe") Outlook on BI. Please invite your friends, spread the word and help us make this event a successful one.

My colleague, Julie Whipple may be able to attend!

Who attended?

  • 12 attendees
    •  I thought it was a great first meeting with a potential to develop into something special.
    • B. Magardichian (+1 guest)
       Great kick off!
    •  This meetup has much potential. First event was exploratory. Conversation touched many areas. As we tighten our discourse on technology and process, I believe NYBI can become an influential player in the BI community, driving innovation and guiding solutions.
    •  I thought the discussion was great. There were a number of very interesting people with great insights to share.
